Whita Rosebowl Report

Whita Rosebowl Day 2

It was a cold and very windy day, not the best of days for low scoring. An early starter stated that his phone said that there was a wind chill factor of -7%, silly boy for playing so early. The problem of knowing how cold it is makes you think that it is worse than it is. A little knowledge helps a lot.
The task of the field was to try and catch Gordon Rae who had a lead of 3 points over Andrew Porteous and 4 over Jim Murray. With the conditions as they were anything was possible
A good start was required but the wind was making it difficult and Gordon's front 9 of 42, opened the door for  Andrew who scored 36 on his first nine and went ahead by 1. It was all on the back nine. In the end a disastrous 6 on the par 3, 13th for Gordon against Andrew's bogey 4 made the difference.

Final scores for the two rounds were:
Andrew Porteous 70 points
Gordon Rae 68 points
Jim Murray 66 points
Andrew Paisley 65 points
This weeks competition is the R M Weatherstone Memorial Trophy.

Two members had holes in one while playing the course through the week. Brady Wilson had his eagle on the 9th hole much to the excitement of his Dad and Jim Murray aced the 4th hole much to the amazement of his playing partner, Ian Borthwick.
